Obituary of Brian F. Morelli

Brian F. Morelli was born on May 6, 1948, to Sybil Sovik and Fred Morelli. He grew up in rural Langley, British Columbia, alongside his four brothers. Their family home, originally owned by Brian’s paternal grandparents from Italy, became an apple orchard and a family farm, where Brian spent much of his early life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Laura, and his siblings: Gary (Lynda), Michael (Heather), Rick, and Joseph (Shawna).  He is also survived by his in-laws: Michael (Lisa) and Janine (Michael).  Beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews: Sheila, Steve (Amy), Bobby (Tracey), David, Ava, Nicolina (Delmore), Meghan, and Madison.  Cherished great-uncle to: Ashley (Lucas), Chris (Nancy), Alexis, Dean, Hunter, Ella, and Freyja.  Proud great-great-uncle to: Madelynn, Ethan, and Jamie.

Brian had a passion for old cars and race cars, and he especially enjoyed attending car races in Pomona. During his school years, he excelled in acting, performing in numerous plays throughout middle and high school. He also had a deep love for nature and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Over the years, Brian took on various roles, including jobs in sales, working as an oil truck driver, and in a glass factory where Seagrams Crown Royal bottles were made. He also helped his family with the farm’s livestock.

His exceptional salesmanship led him to meet his future wife, Laura, through a mutual business connection on Long Island. Brian and Laura met on January 6, 1984, and were married on May 23, 1987, on Long Island. Before their marriage, Brian became a devout Catholic, embracing his faith fully. He was a dedicated husband and served as a Grand Knight twice in his parish, achieving the status of 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, alongside his brother-in-law, Michael Conlin, and his father-in-law, Frank Conlin.

In his later years, Brian’s career in the screenprinting industry spanned many decades. He worked with his father-in-law and brother-in-law until 2016, when he founded his own company, Auldpros.

Brian will be remembered for his quick wit, his love of a good conversation—particularly about politics—and his passion for history. He was a man who cherished his family and his faith, and he will be deeply missed.
