Ken, Jeanette, Claire and I were the four cousins close in age and grew up together. Since I was the youngest, I was kept behind bars in a play pen to keep me safe from the three of them.
One Thanksgiving Ken and I decided to have some fun and climb on the attached garages and run up and down on the roofs on 64th Street. I don’t know what we were thinking but it did not end well for us. We got in BIG trouble. See picture of 64th street.
Another time Ken came to Lake Welch to camp with us. His Mom sent him up dressed in a suite. My Dad made him a Robinhood outfit out of an old green tarp. Some kids would be embarrassed about the suite and tarp outfit, but not Ken he just smiled and laughed and had a great time. He was always interested in having a good time.

We were only neighbors for a short time however we learned how much you loved this country and how you fought the fight. Bayard will not be the same without you. Rest In Peace.
