I've know John for forty years from my work in the the division of Parole. He was a kind, generous person. It is a tragedy his life ended too soon. My condolences to his family

It is over two decades since we were colleagues together at the NYS Division of Parole, but I remember John well for his calm demeanor and for his thoughtful and dedicated service to the welfare of those on parole as well as to the needs of the agency and the larger community.

Even though we’ve only known John for a short period in his life,we had come to know him as a warm and sweet guy. If you could special order from Amazon the perfect neighbor,he was it. Whenever you would talk with John, the first thing that you would hear is his soft voice. I’ve never heard him raise it in all the time we knew him,but then again I’m not Sheila, lol. If you needed a hand with anything,he wouldn’t hesitate to pitch in. This wonderful man went way to early,we will forever miss him. God Speed my friend.

To say that this man was a wonderful genuine good hearted soul is an understatement! His laugh his smile his presence was joy and calmness. I was his neighbor for 15 years and he always helped and watched out for me! My family loves the Meehans and our hearts are broken . My thoughts and heart will be with Sheila and Betty for a long time to come ! A great man went before his time!

John was the kindest of people. In the years I knew him, all of his time went to helping others - elderly, veterans, and anyone and everyone in between. This world would benefit from more men exactly like him. It brings me great sadness to hear of his passing. He will be missed.

We have been friends with John for over 48 years. Much of it has been long distance but we always looked forward to speaking to him and seeing him whenever possible. John was kind, thoughtful, generous, had a great sense of humor and always ready to lend an ear when needed. We will miss him very much and he will always be in our fondest memories. Our condolences to Betty and the family.

To John Meehan’s family
I had the privilege of knowing John through the activity of golf. For many years a group of men, from the KC Missouri area, would meet at Myrtle Beach and have 5 days of great fellowship with John and the guys from New York. Annually seeing John was always a highlight - and even more was the laughter and joy he brought to us all - through telling one of his Irish Limericks in a way that no other could.
To the family, I give my most heart felt condolence. I pray that God’s sweet tangible presence is manifest to each of you during this time of great sorrow. And I pray that God the Holy Spirit comforts each family member with Heavens peace and all the promises that God has given to His people.
With a saddened heart I write this note sympathy, John will be missed.
Sincerely, gary martin
