Gaffney, Virginia Helen, 93, of Huntington, was welcomed home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2020. Virginia’s faith and devotion to God was an inspiration to everyone she met. She served as a Eucharistic Minister in hospitals to provide faith, hope, and encouragement to patients struggling with disease. She loved to pray as a member of the Rosary Society, read in multiple book clubs, and travel. A true patriot, she worked for the Atomic Energy Commission during WW2. Virginia had a strong work ethic and business acumen. She operated a successful business transporting patients for medical care. Virginia’s devotion to her family and friends was her greatest joy. Beloved wife of the late John D. Gaffney, loving mother of Lori (Bill) Anderson, Kathy Gaffney (Don LeoGrande), Brian (Mary Lou) Gaffney, the late Donna Gaffney, Patti (Tom) Caputo, Bill (Erin) and Lyn (Mike) Magee. She was the cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren, each of whom she adored. Virginia was a generous and loving person who saw only the best in everyone. Her life and actions honored her commitment to God, family, friends, and community.
