Martino, Thomas J., of Huntington, entered eternal rest on October 19, 2019 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Linda for 52 years. Devoted father of Michael (Lisa) and Joseph. Cherished Nonno of Michael and Isabella.Dear Great Uncle of Peter, Nicholas, and Jessica. Predeceased by his two brothers Peter and John.

Born in 1928, he was the son of immigrant parents, Frances and Vincent "Jimmy" and nephew of Isabella Occhipinti "Aunt Lizzy". They came to NYC (12th Street) through Ellis Island from Messina, Sicily. Tommy grew up loving baseball and playing drums in New York City parades with the Drum and Bugle Corps.

Drafted into the army at 18, he was stationed for 2 years in Germany with the Corps of Engineers. While there, as a Corporal, he was furloughed to Italy and had the memoriable experience of having ksised the ring of Pope Pius XII, a highlight in his life.

Tommy attended Cartoonist and Illustrators School in NY and in 1955 the family moved to Hicksville where he worked for Sperry Gyroscope and also for Grumman Corp. as a Technical Airbrush Illustrator.

He loved God, family, music (guitar and yodeling songs) and art...(his favorite tempera painting was of the body of Jesus being carried to Heaven.)
