I have only known Joanne for 4 years but it was an immediate friendship. We met as part of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Employment Network. The both of us had similar backgrounds and the calling to help those with Employment problems and challenges. From the beginning she took hold and organized the group of us to offer to those unemployed an informative group of workshops.
Joanne was still more than just a fellow instructor, she became a truly dear friend who was there for me and supported me through the lost of my husband as well as during a serious surgery I underwent this passed year.
I will miss seeing her and Dan at mass and seeing that face light up with a smile and a big wave when she saw me. It is a true lost to all those that knew and loved Joanne. I will miss our lunches and long talks together.
May you rest in peace and until we meet again.
Joan Enright

On November 9th, I lost my cousin and best friend.
I always said Joanne was the sister I never had because I believe the love we shared was how sisters feel towards each other.
There is a hole in our hearts that will never heal. For the rest of our lives, we will think of Joanne and miss her smiling face, laughter and especially our little chats that always lasted for hours!
May God wrap his arms around Don and the family and carry them through this difficult time.

I didn't know Joanne for long, as she only lived in the neighborhood for a few years, but she truly made an impression on me. Upon meeting her, I was immediately drawn to her big, beautiful smile. She always gave a wave, or stopped for a chat, which always flowed easily, when we saw each other on the block. We were blessed to have known her for the short time we did. She was an asset to our neighborhood, and will be sorely missed. I send my condolences to you all on your tremendous loss.
