O’Rourke - John Mitchell Jr. on June 3, 2018, age 80, of Huntington, NY.  Devoted husband of Rosemarie. Dedicated father of John (Lisa), Michael (Krysti) and Christine (Peter). Predeceased by his parents John and Gertrude and his brother Kevin (Lynn). Loving brother of Kathleen (Joe).  Cherished grandfather of Catherine (Keith), Connor, Margaret, Kyle, John, Timothy, Edward, Matthew and Kiersten.  Caring brother-in-law of Joe Liguori (Rosalie) and Albert Liguori (Mona).  Beloved uncle, cousin and friend to many. John was the epitome of a self-made man, rising from mailroom to sales executive at International Paper Company to founder of Rock Harbour Paper Company.  His larger than life personality combined powerful storytelling with great humor and timing that endeared him to all.  He loved playing golf, applying his artistic creativity to his ceramics, and most importantly spending time with his extended family. Visitation at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington NY 11743, Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm.  Funeral Mass Friday 9:45 am at Church of St. Patrick, 400 Main Street, Huntington.  Internment at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of Suffolk, Inc, 101 Laurel Road, East Northport, New York 11731.
