Obituary of Florence Erb

Florence (Flo) Erb passed away on November 19, 2024. Born to George and Mary Snyder in Long Island, New York in 1949, she lived an incredible life. She married her husband, Richard Erb, in 1969. They were married for forty-three years and raised seven children: Rich (Sharon), Jennifer Schultz (James), Mike (Nikkey), James (Heather), Lisa Borrusso (Matt), Melissa Eardley (Ryan), and Emily Augelli (Dino). After Rich died in 2012, she moved out west to California where she formed a new community of friends that she loved dearly. She was a dog lover and took her beloved dog Jax with her everywhere (regardless of the rules that sometimes prohibit pets). During her long life, Flo did many things and had many interests. She was a caregiver, an entrepreneur, a student, a paralegal, a bowler, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a gambler (slots!), a techie (she loved her gadgets), and a traveler with a preference for traveling by rail. While she suffered the tragic loss of her daughter Emily in August 2024, Flo is survived by her other six children and nine grandchildren: Jack, Catherine, Charlotte, Zachary, Liam, Samuel, Thomas, Charley, and Madison. She is also survived by her sisters Linda and MaryEllen, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9 from 4-8 pm at MA Connell Funeral Home in Huntington, NY.
