Obituary of John Gerard Dempsey

Dempsey, John Gerard Jr. on October 18th after a valiant battle with Lewy Body Dementia.  He is  survived by his beloved wife Jeannie and his loving son John Gerard, his sisters and brother, Diane (Charlie) Daniel (Joanne) Abigail (Bob) Caroline, 14 nieces  and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews .  

John and the Dempsey family, who had a deep rooted connection to Great River NY  , attended the Millbrook school in Millbrook NY, then  Stony Brook university and finally  Dowling College in Oakdale NY  where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. 

John worked for David Lerner Associates for 43 years rising to the position of President of the Company . 

John was an avid reader  and NY Times crossword puzzle fan. His hobbies also included boating and gardening. He  most loved spending time with his wife and son and his extended beloved  family . 

John ,when he and his family   attended family gatherings would light up the room with a great sense of fun but also would always ask "how are you" and truly listened when you responded even if there was a joke or two thrown your way .

His generosity, like the love he had for his entire family and close friends , knew no bounds .

John will be dearly missed but forever  loved and remembered .
