Obituary of John J. Meehan

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John J. Meehan (Jack) lived an impressive 100 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 2, 1923 to his parents, John J. and Mary Agnes Meehan. Jack died peacefully at home. His brother, Thomas, passed on August 23, 1998, much too soon.

Jack served in the U.S. Army and received a World War II Service medal, Good Conduct medal, and European-African-Middle Eastern Service medal. Jack had an accomplished career at Brooklyn Law School and after 50 years of teaching and service has an annual scholarship in his name for a student who has excelled in the course of property law.

Jack enjoyed writing, traveling around the world with his good friend June, reading poetry, and taking candid photos on the holidays spent with family. He will be missed by his nieces and their families, Catherine and Doug DiVello, Sarah and Hope; and Ann and John Marx, Jocelyn and Evan. He was blessed with a long and rich life and the wonderful care of his good friend Paola.
