Obituary of Carol Ann Bayne

Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carol Ann Bayne, who passed away on August 5th at the age of 81.

Born on April 13th, 1943, in New York City, where she grew up on the Upper West side of Manhattan. It was here, in a local bowling alley, where she met the love of her life, Neil Bayne, with whom she was fortunate to have 31 devoted years.  After starting their family, they planted roots in Huntington Station, Long Island, where they raised their five children on a cul-se-sac in a wonderful, warm, community that she called home for 32 years. After the passing of her adored husband, Neil, she moved out east to Sound Beach, NY, and lived with her daughter Regina, until she retired from HSBC Bank.  She then moved to Malverne, NY to live with her daughter, Nancy, and helped care for 2 of her 9 grandchildren. The family later relocated to Chadds Ford, PA, where she spent the next 10 years enjoying life, with friend and family gatherings, swimming, watching crime dramas and countless hours solving crosswords puzzles. When her health started to decline, she moved to a wonderful place in Charlotte, NC. She was looked after by her daughter, Tracey, who made her last year and a half as happy and comfortable as can be.

Carol was an independent woman who overcame adversity with ease. She had a laugh that was infectious and was loved by anyone who came in contact with her.  She lived life with integrity and demanded everything  to be neat, organized, and as close to perfection as possible. Her presence will be forever felt in the lessons she taught and the love that she gave to everyone in her life.  Carol was an avid animal lover that never hesitated to show her compassion for all creatures big and small.   She has a special place in her heart for Penny, Muffy and Diego.

She is survived by her 5 children and 9 grand children and will be missed every day:

Kenneth Bayne (wife Samantha, grandson Justin)

Tracey Marchitelli (husband Richard, granddaughter Ashley)

Nancy Denig (husband Donald, Grandsons Daniel & Devon)

Regina Hansen (Grandsons Jamie & Jake)

Douglas Bayne (Wife Lorraine, granddaughter Casey & Reagan, grandson Matthew)

Visitation will be Tuesday August 13th, from 4-8pm at M.A.Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave. Huntington Station, NY 11746

A private Graveside Service will be held for close friends and family, Wednesday, August 14th 11:00am at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd. Calverton, NY

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, you consider a donation to a cause that Carol was passionate about that helped cure kids cancer: https://thon.org/

Rest in peace, Momma.  You will forever be in our hearts and memories!!
