Obituary of Laurie Ann Enea

Enea, Laurie Ann, 61, of South Huntington, passed away on July 23rd, 2024. Beloved mother of Michael Kellmayer and Paul Enea. Loving daughter of Lorraine Hofmann and the late Ronald Lahti. Dear sister of Susan Ziegler (Mark). Cherished niece of Linda Kingman. Devoted aunt of Kimberly, Mark Jr., Amanda, Jennifer and Robert; and great aunt of Thomas. Loving partner of Kurt Waffenschmidt. 

Laurie graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 1980 and continued her education obtaining her bachelors degree in political science from Colorado State University Pueblo in 2007, graduating with honors. An outdoor enthusiast, Laurie’s heart resided in Colorado. She enjoyed skiing, fishing, camping, and driving her 2 sons to hockey practice at 6 AM on the weekends. She was also a lover of anything animal related including her beloved, late yellow lab Maggie. 

Visitation will be held at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, Sunday, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Interment will be held Monday at 10:30 AM, at Pinelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with any associated funeral costs.
