Obituary of William H Masterson
William “Bill” H Masterson, age 48, of Lloyd Harbor, NY, died on February 3, 2024.
Bill is survived by his wife of 17 years, Alexandra “Ali”; children Zack and Kate; father, James W; brother, James P (Laura); nieces Connie and Patrice; nephews John and Ben; and many dear family members and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn; and uncle, Richard.
Bill was born on March 31, 1975 in New Rochelle, NY to his parents JoAnn and James. Bill grew up in Ridgefield, CT, graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1993 and then went on to attend Providence College where he became a full-fledged Friar and made lifelong friends who were like brothers to him. After graduating from the Providence College School of Business in 1997 he began his early career in marketing analytics and eventually moved over to sales in the digital marketing space where he met his wife, Ali. He enjoyed growing his career at Google, Twitter, Facebook and a handful of startups in between, where he picked up a long list of great friends. Throughout his time in the digital space, Bill moved into leadership roles and was most recently the President at Publisher’s Clearing House. In addition to work, Bill was a very proud and active Providence College alumnus, volunteering his time to create and maintain the Providence College Alumni Network page on LinkedIn. In addition, Bill was one of six alumni in the digital space who met annually with students from the Providence College School of Business to mentor them and educate them on navigating their careers post college.
Bill’s pride and joy were his family and he relished spending time with them, his family’s two golden retrievers and friends in Westhampton Beach, his “happy place”. He was an avid Yankees and Giants fan, a car enthusiast who enjoyed playing around on car auction sites and would sometimes “accidentally” win an auction. He will be remembered for his generosity, larger than life personality (and stature, lovingly called “Big Bill” by many), love of Bud Light, the ability to tell some of the best stories and funniest jokes, and for being a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was many people’s “favorite person” and will be greatly missed.
