Sylvia Soto Obituary

Sylvia Soto (July 4, 1941–2024)

Sylvia Soto, 82, of Leesburg, FL, died in Bethlehem, PA, on January 26, 2024.

She was born on a sunny day in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico, in 1941, to Audaz and Eulalia Rosario

Gonzalez. At the age of 12, she migrated to New York City, where she would spend most of her life. She

attended high school in Chelsea, Manhattan, and after graduation, she worked as a secretary for several

organizations, including Morrisania Neighborhood Youth Corporation and Harlem Dowling West Side

Center for Children and Family Services. Sylvia was a hardworking individual who always put her heart

into everything she did.

Apart from her professional life, Sylvia was a devoted member of The Father's House church in Leesburg,

FL. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who enjoyed entertaining. She was a great

hostess and loved to have her family and friends over for dinner parties and gatherings. Sylvia also loved

camping with her family, playing dominos, watching television, listening to music, animals, and her

neighbors in “The Circle."

Sylvia was a proud homeowner who had worked hard to make her dream of owning a house a reality. She

had carefully handpicked every piece of furniture and decor, creating a cozy and inviting home that she

loved to spend time in. As an avid traveler, Sylvia had been fortunate enough to explore some stunning

destinations, including the breathtaking beaches of the Bahamas. Her love for Latin music and dance was

matched only by her husband, Felix Soto, who was her go-to dance partner. Together, they were a graceful

and passionate salsa dancing duo, who lit up the dance floor with their moves and chemistry. Her favorite

TV shows were Petticoat Junction (1963-1970), Mannix (1967-1975), Gunsmoke (1955-1975), Dynasty

(1981-1989), and game shows like Let's Make A Deal, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy. She adored

musical artists such as Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder, Richie Ray, Bobby Cruz, and many more. Her

favorite worship songs were Waymaker, and You Made A Way by Travis Greene.

Sylvia was an extraordinary individual who devoted her life to serving God and helping others. Her

impact was profound, and her legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come. She had a heart of

gold, and her kindness and generosity knew no bounds. Sylvia's warm and loving personality touched the

lives of many, and she was a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her. Above all, she was a

prayer warrior who prayed every night with her daughter Sylvia Soler, and her steadfast faith in God

inspired countless individuals to find strength and courage in their own lives. Sylvia's memory will

always live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her contributions to the world will never be

forgotten.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mikaela Rosario, and her parents, Eulalia R. Gonzalez

and Audaz Gonzalez. She is survived by her children, Sylvia Esther Soler, Sarah Gonzalez Cruz, David

Gonzalez, Audrey Ann Soto, and Mark Daniel Soto. Followed by her grandchildren, Andrew A. Soler,

Ariel E. Soler, Michael David Gonzalez, Juliette Cruz, David J. Gonzalez, Nicole Soto, Esther Soto,

Amanda Soto, Stephanie Soto, Natalie Soto, and Nayelie Soto. Including her great-grandchildren,

Gabriella Delgado Soler, Jayden Soler, and Judah Gonzalez.
