What a beautiful idea! A tree is a fitting tribute to an educator and the lasting contributions of his work.

Walter Wifall was Reverend Wifall and Dr. Wifall to many who looked up to him as a spiritual leader and scholarly professor. To me, he was simply Mr. Wifall, my dearest friend Rachel's father. For thirty years, I had marveled how such a deeply spiritual and brilliant man could be so down-to-earth, humble, and humorous. I witnessed his deep love for his family and his love for the simple joys in life. In more recent years, Walter Wifall became more than all his accomplishments: he became an inspiration to living a life graciously and positively. Despite his long-lasting and debilitating health challenges, Mr. Wifall remained as welcoming, good-natured, and witty as ever! Rachel often shared how he never complained and how he handled his challenges with bravery and positivity. I always enjoyed being in the company of one of the kindest people I have known. Rest in peace, dear Mr. Wifall.

Pastor Wifall has been apart of my family’s life since before I was born. He was my grandparent’s pastor, married my parents, and baptized my brother and me. There aren’t any visits to my grandparents growing up that didn’t include a visit to Christ Lutheran Church and hearing him give his sermon. He was a kind man who touched my and my family’s lives in so many ways. He was so loved and will be truly missed.
