Obituary for Louis N. Dallojacono

1932-2023

Louis N. Dallojacono, of Melville, died December 13, 2023. He was 91.

Louis was born in Brooklyn on October 31, 1932 to Margaret D’Antonio and James Dallojacono. He was the oldest of five children, and he had a deep respect and appreciation for his parents and siblings.

He was the first in the family to go to college. He received his bachelor’s in business administration from Pace College in 1953 at age 20 and went on to have a long and successful career as a chief financial officer at a consulting engineering company in Manhattan.

He married the love of his life, Anna (née Torre) in 1956, and the couple had three children. The family found their way to the Town of Huntington in 1972, where Louis and Anna spent the rest of their lives raising their children and adoring their grandchildren.

Louis enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to dance and had a beautiful singing voice. He appreciated a good meal and the hands that made it. He traveled the world and had a quick wit. He never missed a New York Mets game. He loved his Halloween birthday and celebrated many with an epic costume party. In his golden years, he looked forward to his weekly lunches with his fellow ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out). Those who knew him describe him as the quintessential gentleman.

A longtime member of the Sons of Italy Perry Como Lodge in Northport, Louis was proud of his Italian heritage. He carried the “Giglio” at the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Brooklyn in his younger years and taught his children and grandchildren Italian songs and traditions. One of his favorite things to do was make meatballs and Sunday gravy for his family.

He was a devoted son and brother, a dutiful and loving husband, a cherished dad, and a beloved grandfather. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.

Louis is survived by his children, Margaret Ann and her husband Richard dePoto, Angela, and Louis Jr. and his wife Alissa; grandchildren, Luann, Richard and his wife Kristen, Louis III and his wife Michelle, Harley, and Logan; brother, Anthony and his wife Patricia; sisters Theresa Spina and Anna Paolicelli; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Dallojacono; sister Grace Muoio; and brothers-in-law, Ralph Muoio, Thomas Spina, and Phil Paolicelli.

Visitation will be held at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, located at 934 New York Ave. in Huntington Station, on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Church, located at 175 Wolf Hill Road in Melville, on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023 at 11:45 a.m., with entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram.
