Obituary of Phyllis DeSpagna

DeSpagna, Phyllis (O’Dea) on July 23, 2023. Born November 21, 1927 in Norfolk, Virginia. As a child, moved to Brooklyn, New York. In 1951, married her beloved husband William F. DeSpagna (1928-2015) and raised their family in Huntington Station, New York. Survived by her children Donna DeBois (Jim), John DeSpagna (Jenn), Chris (Jill), and Bill (Tiffany). Predeceased by her son Gary, and her daughter Mary Wilson (Skip). Her adored grandchildren Sean Wilson (Lilly), James DeBois (Alyssa), Jena DeBois, Tessa and Natalie DeSpagna. Founding member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary parish in Melville. Longtime supporter of St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington. Remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She always gave of herself in a loving and supportive manner to help her children and others. She was devoted to her family, friends, and faith. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to support the Gary William DeSpagna Memorial Scholarship at St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, New York. The wake will be held on Friday July 28 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home located at 934 New York Avenue in Huntington, NY 11743. Mass will be held on Saturday July 29 at 9:30 AM at St. Elizabeth’s of Hungary Church at 175 Wolf Hill Road in Melville, NY.
