Obituary of Nancy E. Sloane Balle

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Nancy Sloane Balle

Nancy passed on June 29, 2023 at the age of 68 after a year-long  battle with acute myeloid leukemia.  She was courageous and an inspiration to the very end.

Her life was rich in family, friends, and interests.  It is a terrible loss to all of us  whose lives she enriched with her quiet kindness and wonderful spirit.  Nancy leaves behind a loving and devoted husband Rich, siblings Bob and Susan, nieces and nephew Stephanie, Elizabeth, Marianne, Jennifer and Richard, in-laws; Donna and Bill, and friends far too numerous to grace on this page.

Nancy was born in Brooklyn,  raised in East Meadow and was a graduate of Molloy College.  During many of her working years she was a financial compliance officer at BNY Mellon and retired in 2016. Throughout her life she was an avid skier, tennis player and hiker.  Nancy and Rich hiked extensively throughout the Rockies and reached the summits of many of the nation's highest peaks.

She skied throughout the country and the alps and enjoyed the relaxing beauty of the setting sun over Huntington Bay.   In her at home moments, Nancy loved to sew and crochet and always treasured the everyday, but very special time being together with Rich; they were rarely separated.

Upon her passing, Nancy’s soul joins her dad, Edward and mother, Edna in heaven. Her passing leaves a painful hole in the hearts of all of us who knew her.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in her memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering hospital to further their efforts in fighting leukemia.

The family would also like to extend an invitation to join them following the cemetery, at Joanina Restaurant, 35a Gerard Street, Huntington, NY, at approximately 1:30 PM
