Mary Fiteni of Halesite, passed away on June 8th, 2023 at age 86 from symptoms of dementia, at Gurwin Nursing Home in Commack. Mary was born Mary Frances Muldoon in Ireland, in the town of Ballyshannon, County Donegal on April 22, 1937. She used to win medals for her Irish step dancing. She moved to New York, USA in 1948 with her family, father John, mother Bridget and younger brother John Jr. (all deceased.)

Mary was married to Roy Fiteni on June 29, 1968 in New York. Mary & Roy had one daughter Elisabeth (Beth) born in Van Nuys, California in 1971. She was aunt to Christopher, Meredith, Anthony, Katherine, and Helen, and beloved cousin to many. Mary had worked as a medical secretary for Huntington Hospital and for a doctor’s office. She lived 30 years with diabetes, but loved her cats, and enjoyed Broadway shows and a good cup of tea. She had the most beautiful handwriting from Catholic School.
