Obituary of Anne C. Ramer

Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with the heaviest of hearts and tremendous sadness that we announce the death of Anne C. Ramer of Commack, NY. Anne died unexpectedly on May 24, 2023, at the age of 55. Anne was born on April 19, 1968, in Astoria, NY, attended Harley Avenue Elementary School, graduated from John H. Glenn High School in Elwood, NY in 1986 and Long Island University – C. W. Post with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1990 and an MBA in Finance in 1998. She was hired by LILCO in 1991 and stayed with the company in various roles as it became Keyspan and now National Grid. At the time of her death, she was the Manager of Legal Operations for National Grid’s US Legal Department.

Anne is survived by her parents, Nicholas and Jeanette of East Northport, NY; her brother Nicholas and his partner David Rose of Plainview, NY; her uncle Louis and aunt Joanne (Augustin) Isidora of Kings Park, NY; her uncle Conrad and aunt Paula (Ramer) Koerber of Levittown, NY; her cousins Nicole (Isidora) Hall of Commack, NY, Coleen (King) Celentano of Damascus, MD, Kevin King of Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, Donna (Koerber) Getman of New Milford, CT, Glenn Koerber of Seaford, NY; her god-daughters, Kyla Hall of Commack, NY and Kyla Petrie of Miller Place, NY; her “adopted” nieces and nephews, Sean and Jessica Celentano of Damascas, MD, Michael and Matthew Petrie of Miller Place, NY, Allie Hall of Commack, NY; and her dog, Max. Anne was predeceased by her grandparents, Nicholas and Rose (Beiter) Ramer, Nicholas and Antoinette (Milazzo) Isidora; her uncle John and aunt Jacqueline (Ramer) King; her cousin, Scott Koerber. She was also predeceased by her first dog, Frankie.

Anne is also survived by countless friends from elementary and high school, college, work, and her old neighborhood in East Northport and current one. Anne had a unique quality of staying close to all her friends, loving each one of them by caring about their lives, and giving herself in thought and in effort when a need arose. She was especially devoted to the families of her childhood friends, Karen (Ierna) Petrie of Miller Place, NY, Ivy (Weil) Lewis of Croton-on-Hudson, NY and her dear friends and former colleagues, Gina (Brown) Director of Greenlawn, NY and Margaret (Cush) Grasso of Smithtown, NY. She enjoyed traveling and in recent years embarked on visiting all the states with her parents, brother and her close and beloved friends, Lisa Farina of Staten Island, NY and Janet Rohrssen of East Northport, NY. She reached 48 states! Her home was open to everyone, and she was always entertaining, hosting Friday night dinners, wine tastings, and a themed Labor Day party that grew in size each year, to name a few. Anne donated to local area food pantries and at Christmas, donated toys to her and her parents’ churches and with her mother, provided clothing and toys for entire families through Huntington’s NAACP.
