Smith, John Leon, “Moose” 78, of Huntington, passed away on April 27, 2023. Beloved husband of Maryellen. Loving father of William. Cherished uncle of Robert “Ra” Alvarado. Dear brother of Carol (Bruce) Hartough. He is loved and will be missed by his family and many friends with whom he shared a passion for fishing and boating the waters of his home- Long Island. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station. A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to: The Nature Conservancy and VNS Hospice House of East Northport in John’s name would be greatly appreciated.
