Oh Pete and Jo. The sorrow and shock I feel cannot be expressed in mere words. I learned yesterday that you left and went to heaven. May you have found Peace and Joy with those who have gone before you. For all those left behind, I pray you will find your own sense of Peace in this time of loss. May you take comfort in knowing how many people loved Pete and how many lives his life touched. For me, he was like a second father. 35 years ago, I had a special dance with him at my wedding and I can still hear him saying "this is the daughter I never had." I love you Pete. I love you Jo. You raised four wonderful sons who I knew as kids and watched grow up right along side me. You are so proud of the men they became and the women they are sharing their forevers with. They blessed you with many grandchildren who were the apples of your eyes. Rest easy Pete. Love you. Carol Lowry

My heart goes out to the Hoffmans & all the people Peter shared his love & joy with. Our time spent together was nothing but laughs, even on the harder days. His presence was huge. If you knew him you loved him & he loved you back times a million. There are too many good times to remember. He’d be so disappointed I didn’t end in a joke but my mind is not there right now. (I owe you one when we meet again) Rest in Eternal Peace, Mr.Hoffman. You deserve that & more.

It is hard to put in words the loss the family has felt this past week. Pete has been in our family forever, I cant remember a time without him. He has put so much of himself into our family and most of all his family. He is the only brother I have. He stood beside me for 55+ years through good and bad times, always with a hug and an I love you. Our family hardly says "I love you" Pete made it part of our life and relationship. There was never a call or a I'll see you later without adding Love you. I will keep Pete close in my heart and there is a void that no one can replace. He was a pain, but a great pain. He loved my sister Jo more than words can ever describe. He loved his boys, his grandkids, his daughter-in-laws with an unconditional love. He was so proud of all of them and so so proud of what he and Jo created. They weren't into trips or expensive things, they were in it for their family and it shows now more than ever. Pete, my brother, I will miss you. My promises to you will be kept. I love you and Rene loved you and enjoyed our special times together. RIP Pete, forever in my thoughts, prayers and heart, until we meet again. Joan

It is with a heavy heart that I offer condolences to the Hoffman family on the passing of Peter H. Hoffman, Sr. He was a kind, fun-loving, and passionate person. Peter was a true friend to many, including my Dad - Walter Van der Waag, with whom he shared a deep bond before Walter's passing more than 30 years ago. Their friendship was built on a shared love of life and I remain grateful that Peter asked my Dad to coach with him a year before his sudden passing. Those good memories have remained with me throughout my life and I've remained grateful to Mr. Hoffman for that wonderful gift. Thank you! I'm grateful for the many years that Mr. Hoffman poured his heart into coaching the Saints travel baseball team. He was a consistent presence in my life for many years and he reminded me always to enjoy the game, have fun, and to not take myself so seriously. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. Hoffman for the kindness, laughter, and joy he brought into my life and the friendships he had with my family. Our condolences to Jo as well as Peter, Eric, Chris, and Marc. God bless you all during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Peter, you will be deeply missed.
