Obituary of Matilda Bauser

Matilda Bauser, 96, of Huntington Station, New York passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.  She passed away quietly in her sleep.  Matilda is survived by her loving daughter Peggy Kollmann of Hertford, North Carolina, and loving son, Bruce Bauser of Huntington Station.  She was also blessed with four grandchildren, Jennette, Christine, Warren, and Ian, along with five great grandchildren.  Matilda is predeceased by her husband Warren Bauser and brother Robert White III.

Matilda was born in Mineola, New York to Emily and Robert White.  She was a loving mother, volunteered in Huntington Hospital auxiliary, and worked in different areas of the Half Hollow Hills School District, retiring from Burr’s Lane Middle School in 1992.

Matilda enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, and expanding her knowledge of the world.  Her love of family and friends was an important part of who she was.  She was a wonderful Wife, Sister, Mom, Aunt, Grandma, and Nana.  She was also a friend to so many.  She will always be remembered as a special person that touched so many lives along the way.

The family will receive guests at M. A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue in Huntington Station on Wednesday, March 29th from 3:30 to 6pm.  A short Memorial Service will be conducted at 6pm in the funeral home.  The interment will be March 30th at 10am at Melville Cemetery in Melville, New York.  Memorial Contributions can be made in Matilda’s name to the Suffolk County ASPCA.
