So sad to see this. Driving past my old house on Weston Street, saw the house for sale. Helen was a wonderful neighbor to me and my family many moons ago. We enjoyed tea together and I still have her hostas that she gave to me when I moved into my new house. There was something very special about Helen. She was a good friend and helped me on so many occasions when I was a new mom. Helen , may you rest in peace with Hayes and forever be in a garden of roses . I will always think fondly of our friendship, you were one of a kind. A very special lady.

Aunt Helen Kaler and uncle Hayze , not aunt uncle through blood but through a lifelong friendship. They were truly family to us, and always will be.
My mother and father , Carolyn , and Joseph, we’re best friends with aunt Helen and uncle Hayze from a very young age , early teens and therefore their kids became our best friends.
We became family, and when we were young, we all thought we were family. We shared so much together, so many holidays, upstate so many hikes, bonfires, marshmallows, licking of tents, leaving kids on the mountain and not realizing to. We were down the mountain, having to go back up.
We had endless adventures together on Long Island ,florida, at their house at our house with parties, camping trips out, crazy out houses, bbq’s, camp fires, spooky stories , the mountains, the cabins, the Batmobile, im our basement ,party of 13 , links, log cabin Easter Sunday, dug up bottles, games the Rockinghorse, in their backyard, swimming pool parties , hide and seek, the lean-to , snipe stories and dancing to the music on wheeler place, wearing wigs and guitars and laughing so much. Our neighbors calling the cops because we are too loud.
I treasure when Aunt Helen Kaler uncle Hazy came to Wales when I lived there and stayed at my house, and we had a few days together, adventuring the local towns and the castles. I was so happy to see them on that side of the world living so far away and I was grateful they took the time to come see me and my children.
I also treasure all the trips down to Florida when we lived here when they were young with the kids and our first time we all went to Disney when it opened in 1972.
Aunt Helen’s trips down here in Florida with uncle Hazy and then to her trips in the timeshare with her daughter, Christine. We have endless conversations reminiscing of old days gone by about new things to come.
Helen was always supportive and kind and strong and generous to us, and she will be missed deeply.
She was so talented with quilting decorating and displaying all her beautiful antiques. She was a true Irish with deep pride , and she had all her Irish memorabilia’s all around the house. We often talked about Ireland together.
I remember is young children walking down Huntington at the parade with her mom lived up an apartment and we go up there and hang out and watch from above out of the windows. We thought it was so cool at the time.
I know that uncle Hayze has met her at the pearly white gates to show her around and to enter into the kingdom of our Lord in heaven.
What a reunion that was to see .
Aunt Helen uncle Hayze had an amazing marriage, and they were best friends, and it was an honor to witness this like my parents. Not to say, they weren’t hard times as there is in every relationship but truly love each other, and it showed in many ways, .
I know she’s with my sweet mom and my beloved son Gregory, my nephew, Joey, and all our loved ones gone before us.
It’s so hard to let go when someone dies we love dearly and have spent so much time with, and it leaves such a void in our heart, but we know they are now with our Lord and that comforts us .
We love you aunt Helen ,we are grateful you were a lifelong friend and family and we look forward to when we all together again the party at 13 and all that came after that in our families . Thank you for being you and thank you for all you shared with us through the years there treasured memories deep in our hearts no one could ever erase .
May you rest well and may the perpetual light shine upon you.
May you find favor with God .
I know that you will forever be loved, cherished and miss down here.
May God give your children strength during this sad time may they feel your peace.
