Obituary of Osvaldo Jorge Fulco

Osvaldo “George” Fulco, 84, of Huntington, NY passed on November 2, 2022. He was a 20-year survivor of multiple myeloma.
Osvaldo was born to Jose Fulco and Teresa Fulco (née Padula), on November 13, 1937, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He received his M.D. from University of Buenos Aires in 1962 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in October 1973. He married Arleen Fulco (née Rendig) in 1970, and they lived together in Huntington, NY.
He is survived by his wife Arleen, his daughter Denise Miller and her husband Mark, his son Darren Fulco and his wife Bridget, his granddaughter Kate Miller, his grandson Josh Miller, his granddaughter Beatrice Fulco, his granddaughter Adelaide Fulco, his granddaughter Clementine Fulco and his grandson Dash Fulco. He is also survived by his brother Jose Fulco and his sister Nilda Fulco.
He was preceded in death by his sister Anna Maria Fulco and his sister Blanca Fulco.
Osvaldo was a Pulmonologist in a variety of roles and healthcare facilities for 60 years. He started as a resident in Internal Medicine at Rawson Hospital in Buenos Aires and retired from Suffolk County Health Department in 2002 and the Social Security Administration in 2017. He spent over 30 years of his career at Nassau County Medical Center in the Department of Medicine and Division of Pulmonary Diseases. He was a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and American College of Chest Physicians. He served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine from 1974-1988 at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Osvaldo was also a published author of several medical journal articles.
He excelled at solving crossword puzzles and enjoyed watching game shows. He was most happy cooking Argentine, French and Italian meals with his wife and for his family and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for December 3 at 11:00am at Centerport United Methodist Church located at 97 Little Neck Rd, Centerport, NY 11721. Pastor Rich Allen will officiate the ceremony.
