Rose Othilia Oddo

Rose Othilia Oddo “Tillie” of East Northport, Long Island, New York passed into Eternal Life on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the age of eighty-eight.  She was born and raised in the township of Huntington to Angelo and Luisa Ambrosio, Italian Immigrants who loved America. Tillie the youngest of their six children loved her parents and siblings.  She was always proud to share that she was Italian, that she lived in Huntington all her life, and that family came first.  She truly cherished family and was a devoted wife to Joseph Oddo her husband of sixty-four years. Together they raised three children: Louis, Charles, and Maria and were examples to them of selfless love.  Her husband Joseph openly states: “She is the love of my life!” that’s a powerful statement to say for sixty-four years.   Their commitment to each other reflected the beauty of Holy Matrimony.  They took their vows seriously and faced life’s joys and struggles, with love, faith, and thankfulness to God.  Tillie’s attributes and talents were many.  She could make her own patterns and sew beautiful clothing, and made every season, celebration, and holiday special with her culinary skills.  She had the gift of hospitality and opened her heart and her door wide to family and friends day in-and-day out. It is said that: “Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged” (proverbs 17:6) and Tillie was overjoyed to become a “Nanny”.  Her granddaughters, Luisa, and Anna- Maria were precious gems to her, and she has left an indelible print on them. For these reasons she was the heart of her family.  She is survived by: Joseph Oddo, Louis and Teresa Oddo, Maria (Oddo) Forger, Andrew Forger, Luisa Forger, and Anna-Maria Forger.
