Obituary of Catherine Catlin

On the evening of July 3, 2022, our beloved Catherine Catlin departed from this life to go to her eternal rest.  Catherine is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John Catlin, his son Ivory Wilson, as well as her God daughters, Ms. Erykah Davis, Miss Melissa Kenan and Mrs. Patricia Posillico and her husband Mr. Joseph K. Posillico.  She is also survived by her many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, her great, great nieces and nephews and many cousins. Catherine will join her parents in Heaven, the late Mr. & Mrs. Alfred and Betty Burton, and her most cherished sisters, Mrs. Gladys Jane Burton Kenan, Mrs. Mary L. Smith and Mrs. Hattie B. Patrick.  

          While on earth, Catherine was passionate about her faith and the love of her many family members and friends. She enjoyed travel, music, playing games and fashion. She traveled across the United States, including Hawaii and loved all types of music. Catherine spent many hours playing backgammon on her tablet, playing cards or completing a puzzle with John until the wee hours of the morning.  She had a true and joyful zest for life.  

          Catherine and John enjoyed over 58 years of living and working in Huntington, NY, before they relocated to Wilmington, NC in 2017, in order to be closer to her family members who were living in Wallace.  She will be forever missed by all who had the honor to know and love her on earth.
