While I didn’t know Bruce very well, I know his son very well. He’s a great dad and great friend, with a big heart. We stay in touch, we camp together, our kids play together, and I’d have it no other way. Scott’s mom and dad clearly knew what they were doing to raise such a good son and father. RIP Bruce, knowing you did your job well. Nate

My parents and the Forst family were close friends for many years. Bruce and I were the same age and were friends through
the years. Both our dad's belonged to the Winfield Social Club back in the 40's,50's and 60's. We were often both at picnics and Christmas parties that the club had over the years. We often went to Jones Beach with my grandparents as well.
I remember Bruce was always drawing, and he was good. He was always talking about baseball, especially the Brooklyn Dodgers, and I remember how Very upset he was when they moved to California.
He was especially fond of my Dad, he called him Uncle Marty. My Dad was a Marine in WW2. So along with baseball the Marine Corps was another bond they shared.. We remained friends through our teen years and when he joined the
Marines we would see each other occasionally when he came home on leave. I married in 1963 and moved out of state and
we lost contact with each other. We reconnected when my Dad passed in 1978.
In recent years we have stayed in touch, via email and an occasional call. The last time I saw Bruce was when he was in
Arizona. Our son lives in the Phoenix area and we got together at our son's home. It was great catching up after many years.
My husband and Bruce became friends on email and when Bruce found out that Hank had been a Smokejumper during his
college years he started calling him Smokey
My name is Iantha Kern, but Bruce always called me, "I".
Also, at that time we "met" Arizona Jack Kid" to the delight of our 2 grandsons.
We are so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing but glad to know he passed peacefully.
Our condolence's to the family. Sorry we can not be there for the service.
Smokey (Hank) and "I" Iantha Kern Brodersen
