Our Aunt Elsie, she was one strong, smart woman. She was so good to my girls when they were growing up. Picking them up from St. Pats or shuttling them to their friends or to the mall. I aways said I thought Rebecaa had Aunt Elsie on speed dial. Elsie said that she took care of my girls for her sister, my Mom, when Gussie was no longer with us.
Aunt Elsie had a good, long life, surrounded by relatives and friends, and always going on outings with the Millford crowd, the "cousins" and Coffe Clotch girls. Trips to Winterclove, Hansen's, Cruses, Hawaii, and many countries thoughout Europe. She said she had visited 11 countries, and had spent a whole month in Europe one one summer with Uncle Frank. She loved keeping in touch with our German relatives and keep me abreast of all of their updates, births and celebrations.
I was blessed to grow up in a great, extended family and for every holiday we were together. Oma was cooking up a storm for Christmas and Easter and everyone was there. Aunt Elsie was on tap to bring a second turkey as one was not enough for this crowd.
And of course there was ZUM, her favorite restaurant. We had many dinners there with Lisa, Vinny, Ava, Anna Marie and Carolyn. Always a good time remembering all the "good old days" Lots of love and laughter.
As Elsie got older I was on "Beauty Parlor" duty. When I wheeled her in they made her feel like a celebrity. She so enjoyed that outing and the beauticians loved her.
Dear Aunt Elsie, I was blessed that you were a part of my family and my life. May you rest in peace. Love, Rhonda
