Liz, I am heartbroken for you and your children. It is such a tremendous loss. I know that God‘s love for you and your family will uphold you through this difficult time and always. My husband remembers Dan and felt so badly to hear of his passing. I pray that the days ahead will bring you renewed hope and peace. With love, Carmela

I met Danny in high school and jumped at any chance to hang with him. I had never met a freer spirit. At such a young age, he seemed to have all the answers. And when you're sixteen, you have lots of questions. When my family moved from the area after high school, my desire to spend time in Huntington was ever present. Always ready to set you straight, he shot back with that huge grin: "Stay at my house!" Problem solved. THAT was easy! I spent the bulk of that summer in 1980 at Cove Road, quickly becoming what J.B. aptly called "The star boarder". Whether trying to finally beat Jimmy at pool, tooling around town in the "W" with Tim, being taken under Chris's wing, or just hanging at the kitchen table with ANYONE who might happen by, it was never-a-dull-moment life. That place was a destination and I am grateful to have been there. Endearing and intimidating at the same time, Danny was always ready with advice, guidance, or a slap or punch (VERY hard!) as payment for "bad-think-teenager-brain". Even though he was only nine months older, he played the big brother role well. For beer money, we shared a few work gigs. Danny's work ethic could only be described as a "put your head down, who cares how tired and sweaty we get, okay we're done, toss the tools in the truck 'cause there's fun to be had someplace else" kind of thing. I can imagine how well that served him and his family over the years. He would go to the mat for you. And rip the white t-shirt off his back for you to bleed into. True story. Our paths diverged but was able to catch up at a school reunion or two. It was always like no years passed in between. Timeless loyalty. To Danny: I look forward to the day when you roll up in your $300 beat-up old Chevy wagon, your loose hubcap flies off and rolls over my sneakers, and we're kids again. I love you, brother! To Liz, the kids, and the entire Brown clan, I wish you all peace! Pete Halliday, Fairport, NY

Liz, Daniel, Maire and James,
My deepest sympathies on the tragic loss of your loving husband and dad. I have only the fondest memories of Danny amongst all of his siblings in that iconic ‘Brown Clan’. Always a smile upon that handsome face and a witty (perhaps irreverent ;) remark to share, but never a cross word to - or about another. May God’s Grace comfort each of you - and all of the Brown siblings and their families - through this most difficult and surreal time.
With much love,
Coleen Sullivan

Dan was a great brother to our whole family and he really new how to light up a room with his quick wit and his dry sense of humor. He was thoughtful and sensitive and was a great friend to those who new him. He was a loving husband to Liz and he adored his children, Daniel, Maire and James. He truly loved and was devoted to his family. Dancing Dan will be in our hearts forever.
Love always, your sisters, Barbara, Cathy & Patty.
