VanderMaas, John Richard, 73, life-long resident of Huntington, passed away on October 24, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Laura Lee VanderMaas. Loving father of Jessica Kim VanderMaas. Dear Poppy of Joseph John Usis, III and Jeramy Sean Spratley. Cherished brother of Judy Durante, Marcia Hill, Al VanderMaas, Nancy Wood and predeceased by Laddie VanderMaas and Joan Class. He had a passion for being fair to all, especially his fellow veterans and his loving family. Visitation Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station. Funeral Service Monday 10:30 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Huntington Station. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
