Benny was a kind man with a great sense of humor. He was very supportive of the arts and often told me stories of him playing the accordion. He was very proud of his family and treated everyone as if they were his family. He will be greatly missed!

Benny (Mr. D’Aquila) touched the lives of so many. He was the most wonderful principal and friend. He helped shaped my children’s lives. He was a role model of leadership and kindness to my boys. My son Dylan looked up to him and respected him so much that he chose to be Mr. D’Aquila one year for Halloween ☺️Benny supported my daughter Amanda with his creativity and love. He believed in her and gave her the support & confidence to grow and shine. He came to see her perform & always made her feel special. What a beautiful soul and special man. As a mom at Jackson his door was always open and he greeted us all with smiles and open arms. His heart was gold just like the trophy in the picture below that he was so proud of. I only hope he knows how appreciated and loved he was. He loved his daughters so much he used to tell me stories about them in college. He will leave a lasting impression on our lives forever. And he will be so missed. I hope he is smiling down from heaven as he feels the outpouring of love. May his memory be a blessing to all that knew him and love him. May he Rest In Peace.

Benny was my boss, but he was also my good friend for over 20 years. He was a kind man who lived everyday by the saying “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. Benny was the main reason why I got up each morning and looked forward to coming to work. We had many laughs over the years with his sense of humor. I will miss him so much. Now my friend you are free.

Mr. D'Aquila was a wonderful Principal for George A. Jackson Elementary school in Jericho. I was fortunate to get to know him and work with him as the "Box Top Lady" as part of the PTA. He loved the staff and his students as he took the time to know them and what they liked. He knew how to have fun with his staff, his PTA boards as they changed during his years, and most of all the families. He was always there for us. He left a mark on the students as a true Principal. May he find peace and rest now. My condolences to the family, friends, and staff that knew and loved him. My prayers to all. He encouraged me to be active in the community as well as many others. His legacy within Jericho lives on!

Mr. D'Aquila was one of the most nicest, intelligent and humble person we know. He welcomed all students to his Jackson Elementary School and even tried to befriend their parents to make them feel at ease about dropping off their kindergartners. It was a honor and privilege to have Mr. D'Aquila as our daughter's principal knowing that our daughter will be well taken care of at Jackson under his supervision. We will truly miss Mr. D'Aquila. Benny was an incredible human being who touched the hearts of all that knew him. He was a team-player who went out of his way to enable others to be comfortable. He was able to do this because he treated people the way they needed to be treated. His insight, compassion, kindness and generosity left an everlasting impression on all of us. His sense of humor was appreciated, and it helped to balance our thinking during the most difficult situations. Benny was a colleague, a friend and a person that I will always remember, and he will be greatly missed.
Along with my sympathy I send the family my love and wish them a sense of peace from the beauty of their memories of Benny. Cecile Wren
