Elsie B. Del Cioppo Riofrio (90), of Melville, New York left this world on September 12, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Julio I. Del Cioppo. Loving mother of Giselle M. (Richard) Maggio, Julio A. (Christine) Del Cioppo, and Elsie M. Macchia. Adoring grandmother known as Mommy Elsie to Joseph & Jaqueline Maggio, Mark Gorsuch & Tracy Petersen, and Jay & Matthew Macchia. She was a caring mother to us and caring Tia to many extended family members, a loving sister, and caring friend to many. Elsie was born on May 18, 1931 in Guayaquil, Ecuador, SA. She came to New York in 1951 and married Julio in 1954. Elsie & Julio have been together and enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Elsie graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC as a fashion designer and worked in the garment center designing evening and bridal wear. Her passion for sewing led her to her final years of sewing for an organization called Dress a Girl Around the World through St. Anthony of Padua. She will forever be remembered for her devotion to God and her faith. Her gentle selfless nature, and her love of family has left a lasting impact that will remain forever on all those who had the privilege to know her. She will be truly missed by all. Her family and friends found comfort in knowing that her final days were filled with love and peace. Mommy Elsie wrote this on 5/2/2019 … Connell Funeral Home 934 New York Avenue Huntington Station, New York 11746 FUNERAL MASS Saturday 9/25/2021 10:00 A.M.
