FAMA- Thomas X., of Melville, on June 27, 2021 at the age of 98. Beloved husband of Marjorie (deceased) and loving partner of Maria. He is survived by his devoted nieces and nephews: Philip, Frank, Joseph T., Joseph B., Dominick, Maria, Philip R., Rosemary, James, Arlene and Ellen Marie (deceased). Born in East Harlem, the youngest of six: Sebastian, Philip Sr., Mary Greco, Ben, and Connie Romano; all of whom predeceased him. He grew up in Astoria and Corona, later living in Baldwin, Long Island City and Melville, NY. A Veteran of World War II, he served in the North Pacific with the Army Air Force and was discharged with honors in 1945. After receiving his bachelor's degree from Pace College, he spent a long and distinguished career working as an administrator for the NYC Department of Housing and the NYC Board of Education. Visitation will be held at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington Station on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. He will be laid to rest on Friday, 11:30 AM at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to any worthy Veteran's organization, such as Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) or Wounded Warriors.
