To the Foertsch Family,
Your mom was simply the most pleasant, loving and caring woman we have known. So many Huntington memories include the Foertsch house on Vineyard Road especially just sitting at the kitchen table always with an Entenmann's product or two and lots of chatting. Such a comfortable place to be! She was always smiling! She was always interested in all we had to say. Your mom was at every band and choir concert -- always with appreciation and love. She was a loving and caring friend to Carol and Carl. Carol enjoyed their lunches out and their telephone conversations. We were blessed to have known her and to have had her in our lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless. With love from, Carol and Carl Saenger and Nancy and Scott Miner

Marina and I will miss Granny so much! She loved and cared for all of her family. She was a great example to us all and I'll never forget all of the great conversations I've had with Granny over the years. She was always so interested in how I was doing and what I was up to. More recently, I enjoyed conversations with Granny about family history and history in general. She was always so welcoming and kind to Marina; always curious about her culture and interested in her career developments. Granny will be greatly missed by us all! We love you Granny!

Some of my fondest childhood memories include long days spent at Robert Moses State Park with Mrs. Foertsch and family and my mom and siblings. Our moms were fierce! They'd ride the waves, then enjoy some rare time catching up. As a mom myself now, I look back and appreciate the time and effort it took to get everyone together for a day at the beach. Mrs. Foertsch never made it seem like work. She had the best laugh and clearly delighted in life. She didn't mind one bit when all of us "kids" made a whirlpool out of her backyard pool. Irene was a steadfast friend to our family through life's ups and downs, and we're fortunate to have known her. Vineyard Road was where it all began. We're forever grateful. All Halvorsens send our prayers and thoughts to you, Ellen, Donna, Jim, and Bobby, and your families. Much love to you.
