Susan was born to the late James & Henrietta Brooks on September 29, 1928 in Huntington, New York. She departed this life on September 3, 2020. She was educated in the Huntington public school system. Susan met her husband, the love of her life, Lawrence A. Brown (preceded in death) and they married on October 4th 1947. From their union they were blessed with eight children. Susan had a very strong faith she attended Evergreen Baptist Church (past member), Solid Rock Ministry (past member), Assembly Of God (past member) and Bethel A.M.E church (present member). Susan worked at Huntington Head Start as a cook and also was a housekeeper for several local families including Gayle and the late Ron Bard and also Maryann and the late Bill Teller whom she held very dear to her heart. Susan had a smile that lit up any room she entered and she was remembered by anyone who had the pleasure of spending time with her. Susan is survived by her children Leona Brown (Wyandanch), Patricia Brown (Huntington Station), Lawrence Brown Jr (Springfield Massachusetts), Robert Brown (Springfield Massachusetts), Susan Brown (deceased), Barkley Brown (deceased), Darlene Brown (Huntington Village) and Keith (Casey) Brown (Jeanine Green-Brown). Her sisters Delores Hunter (Ernest), Barbara Miley (The late Jessie), the late Dorothy Brooks -Payne (William Payne), the late Gladys & Walter Edwards and the late Evangeline Brooks. Her grandchildren Monique (Russell), Robert Vaughn Scharline (Anthony), Daria (RJ), Clinton Jr, Chanavia , Vanessa Stanfield (Tyler), Eric, Tony, Benji and Steven. Great grandchildren Jessica (Shianna), Keith (Jessica), Russell Jr, Jasmine, Justin & Kiyah. Great great granddaughter Laiyla. Nephews Billy, William (Akemi), Jim and Andre. Nieces Carolyn, Laura, Eleanor (Michael), Cynthia, Laurie Ann, Karen (Dennis), Laquita, Casandra and four special family members Clara West, the late Clinton Anthony, Luce Champagne, Thomas Vaughn and a host of other family members blood and non-blood who referred to her as Ma, Grams, Great Grandma or Aunt Sue. Susan will be missed beyond words.
