Jorgensen, Carol Anne, longtime resident of Huntington Township, passed away on June 15th, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Loving wife of the late Robert C. Jorgensen Senior for 34 years. Beloved mother of Dana (Todd), Victoria, and Robert (Marla). Cherished Grandmother “Nana” of Tyler, Hunter, Clayton, Hudson, Lexington, Marissa, Christian, Ryan, Abigail, and Caiden. Devoted and loving companion Richard Young. Sister of William (Lois), Richard, and Robert. Honored daughter of the late William John Long and Anne Charlotte. Close friend to many.
Carol Anne was born in Brooklyn, New York. Carol earned her Bachelor's Degree from Adelphi University. She was a dedicated registered nurse at Hilaire Rehabilitation & Nursing, VAMC Northport, and Stony Brook Hospital. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband Robert at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton.
Family and friends will always remember Carol's poise and grace to all she encountered, no matter what the circumstance. She inspired her children to succeed by not allowing them to see the obstacles in their way and as a result, raised a registered nurse, a guidance counselor and a military colonel. She imbued her children with a fierce spirit of fun, service to the world and the importance of family above all else.
Carol deeply loved all animals. She took many dogs under her wing and used her nursing skills to provide medical care. She will be remembered by Winnie, Cedric, Joey, Sammy, & Harry.
Carol continuously donated to various animal organizations. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to: ASPCA https://secure.aspca.org/donate/memorial or the Little Shelter https://www.littleshelter.org/ in Carol Ann Jorgensen’s name.
