Obituary of Stella LaPietra

LAPIETRA – Stella A. of Huntington, New York, passed away on April 24, 2020, from complications due to COVID-19 at age 95. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew. She is survived by her daughter Antoinette Link (Joseph). Cherished grandmother of Michael Link (deceased) and Petrina Hubner (Thomas). Loving great-grandmother of Mackenzie, Madison, and Andrew Hubner; and Selena Link. Companion of the late John Annunziata. Stella’s greatest joy was her family. Stella and her late sisters Millie, Nancy, Ann, Lilly, and Vivian would have monthly “Sister Club” meetings to connect, cook, and support each other, while also planning the annual family picnic and family Christmas party for everyone. Stella was a Eucharistic minister and longtime member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Columbiettes Women’s Organization. She and her husband Andy were the founding proprietors of Sunny Pond Farm in Huntington, NY. The farm and country store provided patrons with fresh, organic, homegrown produce and assorted treats. Stella was famous for preparing dishes to sample in order to demonstrate how delicious vegetables could be. Our world was a little brighter because she was in it! Due to the pandemic, a memorial Mass and “Stella”bration will be held at a future date. She will be laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Huntington, NY.
