Obituary of James T. Eberhardt

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James T. Eberhardt, 60, passed unexpectedly at his home in Patchogue, NY on February 19, 2020. He is remembered with enormous love by his children Alecia (and Tom), Lindsay (and Joshua), and Colin (and Catherine); his partner Wendy; his grandchildren Ruby, Oliver, and Emma; his siblings Kimberly (and Jeffrey), Sandra (and Jack), and Jeffrey (and Lin); nieces and nephews Patrick (and Jaime), Heather (and Tim), Miegan (and Kevin), Drew (and Amy), and their families; and many other extended family and friends. Jim was born to parents George and Doris Eberhardt in 1959 and spent a happy childhood in Huntington, NY. He met Wendy at Hilaire Nursing Home, where they both worked; they married in 1987 and raised three children. He spent over 30 years working for the Village of Lloyd Harbor, alongside friends who were like family. Jim was kind, goofy, and easygoing; he was a good listener, accepting his loved ones for who they were without judgement. He loved being outdoors, camping, kayaking, animals, plants, and working with his hands, dessert with every meal, and coffee any time of day. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family. Visitation will be held Monday, February 24 from 2¬-4pm and 7-9pm; family and friends will share personal remembrances at 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jim’s name to the Arbor Day Foundation, to plant a tree in his memory: https://shop.arborday.org/content.aspx?page=commemorative-sample-tim
