Judy McCune Born in Urbana, Illinois Beloved Daughter of Helen Dillon Keegan and Roy Everett Turner Light of our Lives. Mother Extraordinaire. Graduated from the University of Illinois, 1957 B.A. in Music Education M.A. C.W. Post Accomplished Musician and Music Educator, serving in the Harborfields C.S.D. at T.J. Lahey Elementary from 1969 - 1992. A Huntington resident from 1967, Judy devoted her retirement years to her two passions: music and canine creatures. As a faithful parishioner, she sang in the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs (Centerport) church choir from 1999-2014. She also volunteered in her community for many years with the Huntington League for Animal Protection. Judy loved dogs and with the LAP organization she participated in many educational events, advocating for animal rescue and adoption. Judy passed away peacefully in her sleep, after a long illness at the age of 84. She is survived by her 4 children, 1 brother and 3 grandsons Melissa McCune - Kew Gardens, NY Kathy Keegan - Somerville, Mass. John McCune - Yardley, Pa. Karen Nolan - Little River, South Carolina (Brother) Thomas J. Keegan - New City, NY A mass of Christian Burial will be offered at OLQM Roman Catholic Church in Centerport. Interment will be following at Huntington Rural Cemetery, to the accompaniment of a New Orleans jazz band. Sweet Judy Blue Eyes, may you rest in Heavenly Peace.
