Obituary of Irene Barrett
Irene (Beauka) Barrett of Huntington passed away Saturday October 5, 2019 at her daughters home with loved ones by her side.
Irene, the wife of the late Gerard E Barrett Sr. was born in Cambria Pennsylvania. Raised on a farm and dreaming of the city, Irene at 17 moved to New York. Married and settled in Huntington, Irene raised 8 children, worked the grave yard shift as a nurse and was extremely active in church life, Ladies Auxiliary, Columbiats, Outreach and the Community.
Predeceased by her sons Jerry Barrett Jr. Paul Andrew Barrett and granddaughter Jennifer Eppich Matthews. Irene is survived by her children Edward Barrett, Mary Ann Eppich, Pamela Barrett Sylvia, Mechelle Barrett Casciotta Peter Barrett, Patricia Mayer, Mark Barrett, 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, Sister Virginia Place and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 11am on November 2nd at St. Elizabeth of Melville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Northport Hospice or the Disabled Veterans
