Obituary of Francine Wood
Please share a memory of Francine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Francine Wood entered heaven’s gates on Monday October 7, 2019 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family members. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, educator, and historian. Known for her grace and strength, Francine battled pancreatic cancer for close to two years while maintaining her place in the lives of family and friends. Despite many challenges and bumps in the road, she remained vibrant, courageous, and beautiful on the inside and out.
Born on October 22, 1950, Francine grew up in Wantagh, NY. She remained on Long Island and dedicated herself to the education of hundreds of children, both in the classroom and within her Living History Club. She met her devoted husband, Donald, at W.T. Grant Company, and they have enjoyed 47 years of marriage. During this time they created a beautiful home together and filled it with the joys of two children, Donald Jr. and Amanda.
Francine is survived by her husband, Donald; son and spouse, Donald Jr. and Kelly; daughter, Amanda; and grandson, Donnie III. She was also a devoted aunt, cousin, and friend.
Despite the sadness that surrounds the loss of such an incredible woman, Francine maintained her faith in God’s love and plan. Let us follow in her example by feeling gratitude for our memories and recognizing the blessings in each day.
