Brain, you truly are such a caring, loving, and sweet sweet soul. Having our office doors right next to one another for the past 7 years allowed for so many rich memories to be created. You became such a dear friend to me. Your compassionate, gentle, and humorous nature has been inspiring. Throughout the years we shared laughs, stories, leftovers, teas, fruits, and of course, clinical support. You're a thoughtful, encouraging and genuine soul who will forever be missed. I am immensely grateful for having you in my life and for being a part of your journey as well. Thank you for your presence and your smile will remain warmly in my heart.

I have had the privilege of working with many wonderful individuals during my years at MercyFirst Brian has been one of the most thoughtful, generous, and genuine I have known. Brian's dedication was palpable to all. His nurturing demeanor extended to both the children and staff members alike. He felt deeply, cared unconditionally, and worked committedly. Brian's presence alone made people smile and his words made people heal. Although our dear friend and colleague has left us physically, his spirit, laughter, and memories will perpetually remain alive.

The last time I saw Brian, just a few weeks ago, he stopped a co-worker on the path and was chatting and laughing away, the way he always did. When the two parted, he put his hand on his friend’s shoulder and left with a smile. That was Brian. In the 15 years that I knew and worked with Brian, I never saw him with anything but a smile. He truly changed the energy of any room he walked into, for the better. Brian, I will never forget the many times we spent going over records together, and our chats. May you Rest In Peace, and may your family be surrounded by love.

I met Brian as an intern when I came to MercyFirst to work on McKeown. He felt like an extension of McKeown to me and was a part of who I experienced as family away from home. Brian was such a ray of sunshine and just an incredibly genuine and friendly person. You never saw him without a vibrant greeting that lit up your day, no matter what he was going through. He also was kind and caring enough to let me process in his office during a major transition time and I appreciated what a great listening ear he was whenever I needed it. He is greatly missed but the impact he’s had will be enduring. Praying for strength, peace, and joyous memories for his family and loved ones.

No one can prepare you for a loss, it comes unexpectedly and without warning. I got to know Brian briefly working with him on projects and noticed both this enthusiasm for the work and his dedication to both MercyFirst but most importantly to the children under his care. He will be missed greatly not only by his family, but by those that got to know him even briefly in passing. He has left an impression not only on the agency but those that he has touched with his work. Please accept my condolences especially during this difficult time. A person leaves this earth, but he remains in the memories and minds of those that he leaves behind.

I was so sad today to hear of Brian’s passing. I worked with Brian for only a year but he had such a huge impact on my experience at Mercy First. On the most difficult of days, I could always count on him to come into my office and put a smile on my face. His heart was so big, and I always felt happier after seeing him in the hallways or talking to him in the clinical department. I hope that the family can find some peace and comfort in knowing how much Brian impacted the lives of others and brought happiness to those around him. Rest easy Brian. Xoxo

Mr Brian,
I am still in shock as I just keep imagining you walking down the hall in grammatico and into my office to chat. You always made me laugh and smile and you brought so much to MercyFirst and the kids that this is such a huge loss for everyone. You did so much for everyone without asking for a single thing. You are already so dearly missed. I just hope your resting easy and smiling down on all of us.

My dear dear friend, I simply cannot accept that you are no longer with us. As soon as I would hear your voice down the hall I would smile, because you brought so much joy to me (and everyone) simply by being the amazing person that you were. Brian, you were defined by your authenticity and your genuine spirit and this is what enabled you to easily connect to all of your colleagues at work, and to the youth every single day. You and I have suffered through deep personal losses together and have shared many happy moments as well. As you have been a part of my MercyFirst world for the past almost 17 years, I simply cannot imagine this place without you. I know that you and Lisa are together watching over me, and that brings me some peace in a time of such deep sadness. You are so so loved my friend.

Brian possessed the infectious nature of making others feel good with his presence. His aura of positivity and ability to genuinely care for others was truly admirable. If the legacy of a person is defined by how that individual impacted other people, Brian's legacy is cemented as one of the kindest individuals I have had the good fortune of knowing. My most sincerest condolences to his family and loved ones.

As MercyFirst, I bump into different staff all the time. Brian was someone who always had a smile and some kind words whenever our paths crossed. He was just a genuine decent human being who cared deeply about the young people he worked with and those he worked alongside. He was devoted to our kids and our mission and was always willing to do whatever was necessary to get the job done. It is very hard to believe that he wont be with us at MercyFirst in the days and months ahead. A big loss. We will miss you Brian!

Lost far too soon. A very good friend of mine from the late ‘70’s to mid ‘80’s. Cross country trip together, in my wedding party, spent a lot of good times finding our way in life. We reconnected briefly when he was helping my wife in her final days. A very compassionate RN, the last I saw him was at her funeral. I’m sorry I didn’t know he was sick. Maybe we could have had a few laughs about the old days. The earth is a lonelier place today. Godspeed Brian.
