Phillip Charles Wulfken passed away on May 25, 2019 following a lengthy and courageous battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease. Phillip was born on August 22, 1954 in East Meadow, New York. He grew up on Long Island, where he graduated from Plainview Old Bethpage JFK High School. Shortly after, he began a successful, lifelong career as a talented mechanical contractor. He married his wife Judith (McCarthy) in 1983, and they were happily married for over 35 years.
He is survived by his loving and unwavering wife Judith, their daughters Elizabeth Weis and Kaitlyn Wulfken-Gibbs, sons in law James Weis and Andrew Gibbs, grandchildren Matthew, Phillip, William, and Evelyn, and many dear friends and family members. He was the devoted son of the late Joseph and Mary Wulfken, and brother of Joseph, Charles, and the late William, John, and Mary.
He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends, and will be forever remembered fondly for his kindness, honesty, sense of humor, and generosity. All who knew him knew that his resourcefulness and knowledge knew no bounds, earning him the affectionate nickname of “The Brain”; he was truly one of a kind.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral home. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church (Huntington) on Thursday at 10 AM.
