Obituary of Salvatore A. Mazzasita

Salvatore Andrea Mazzasita died on May 8, 2019 after a year-long battle with multiple myeloma.    Mr. Mazzasita was born in the small Sicilian town of Calatafimi on November 9, 1942.   He was the youngest son of Giovanni and Rosaria Mazzasita and loving brother of Rosetta and Joseph.   He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Dix and then deployed in Germany before being honorably discharged in 1968.   He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Pace University and had a long and distinguished career in his profession.   Mr. Mazzasita was a proud Manhattanite, enjoying Broadway shows, cocktails with friends and fine dining.    He lived on the upper East Side with his long-time life partner, Joseph Southard.

Mr. Mazzasita is survived by his brother Joseph, niece, Franca Montevago, nephew, Anthony Costa and grand-nieces and nephews - Jessica, Alexandra, Gabrielle, Grant, Ashley, Michelle and Noah.

A private service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx at 1 pm on May 18th with family and close friends.
