To the Darby's- I stopped in to see Lois a couple of years ago and had a wonderful conversation. When I stopped in this week, knocked and looked in through the front door, I could see a lot of furniture gone and my heart sank. She was a fantastic and fun-as-hell lady who I will greatly miss. When my Dad died in 1966, Mr. and Mrs. Darby took Brian and I up to Bear Mountain and West Point to get me away from attending my Dad's funeral, which my Mom didn't want me to see at the age of 8. I will be forever grateful to the Darby family and wish you all great lives and happy times. She's a gal who left a lot of great memories behind! Jeff Brown 12/9/2019 813-418-1202

Sad to say goodbye to the last of the surrogate mothers that raised an entire generation of Cold Spring Hills boys. She’ll always be the “Den Mother” because the door was always open and the welcome mat was always out for us all. I suppose when you had five boys of your own, a few more coming through the door were hardly noticeable. I never called her Aunt Lois, but she might as well have been for all the time we spent at her house and all the kindness that she showed to me and my family over the decades. A truly wonderful LADY! My deepest condolences to all my Darby brothers and their families.
