Obituary of Jean diMonda

On Tuesday April 16^th, 2019, Jean diMonda, loving wife, and mother two children passed away at the age of 96 and ½.

She was born on November 5^th, 1922, married Richard C. diMonda and together raised two children, Richard diMonda and Joan Fretz. She was known for her boundless love and selfless devotion to her family and friends. Jean was always interested in each of her offspring, making each feel special and always in attendance at their birthdays and graduations. She was an amazing cook, always ready to feed you.

Jean worked as a bookkeeper and accountant in a variety of banking and commercial settings for many years.  In her eighties, she became an elementary school lunch monitor and enjoyed working with the children.

Jean was preceded in her death by her husband, and her two brothers, Victor and Frank DiStefano. She is survived by her sister Marie Martingano, her two children, seven grandchildren (Jason, Nikki, Dan and Janette diMonda and John, Keith, and Kristin Fretz) and one great granddaughter, Aubrey Kayatta.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Visiting Nurse Hospice House of East Northport that provided a beautiful, loving, and expert care environment for Mom’s passing.  It is truly a house of angels.  Although you can make online donations at www.vnsny.org, we recommend that you make donations by check, payable to the “VNS Hospice House East Northport” and mail them to the address below, requesting that your donation be used to support the VNS Hospice House of East Northport, in memory of Jean diMonda.   This ensures that your donation will go directly to the facility that helped us.
