Joseph John D’Andrea
November 12, 1923 – March 18, 2019
Joseph John D’Andrea 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18th 2019 at Stony Brook University Hospital.
Born in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late James and Mary Cecilia D’Andrea (Conte). He is survived by his wife Eleanor Casey-D’Andrea, his son Thomas (Don), his brother John (Janet), his daughter-in-law Barbara, his nieces Mary Ellen D’Andrea, Anne Ring (Dave), Joan Bertussi (Tom), Janie Fitzin (Tom), his stepsons John Casey (Joanne), Patrick (Debbie), his stepdaughter Kathy (Chris) along with 5 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, and many other extended family members and friends. He is predeceased by his sister Jeanne, his wife Mary, his sons Joseph, Richard, and his daughter, Mary Louise.
Joe was a proud WW II army veteran, an honored graduate of Mount St. Michael High School in the Bronx, and a 1941 graduate of Fordham University. He worked as an engineer, stock broker on Wall Street, salesman, and entrepreneur. From its inception, Joe was an usher and congregant of St. Elizabeth’s church for 40 years. He was one of the founding members of the Huntington First Aid Squad and a volunteer fireman in Melville for many years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him and will be in our hearts forever.
A viewing will be held on Sunday March 24th from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Avenue, Huntington Station, NY. A funeral mass celebrating his life will be held on Monday, March 25th at 09:30 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 175 Wolf Hill Road, Huntington Station. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 45 Huntington Rd, Huntington, NY 11743.
