Obituary of Buddy Griffith

Griffith – C. Albert “Buddy” age 90, died peacefully on Feb 4, 2019 in Huntington, New York.  Born on Dec 25^th, 1928 in Huntington Hospital, he was a lifelong Huntington resident.  Graduated from Huntington High School in 1947 and Hamilton College in 1951.  He owned Huntington Market and also developed many properties in Huntington and Lloyd Harbor.  Buddy was a volunteer fireman and elected Commissioner of the Huntington Fire Department in 1976 and served until 1991. He also served on the Board of Trustees at the Huntington Rural Cemetery.  He was an avid sailor and enjoyed spending time with his family and dogs.  Buddy is survived by his wife of 67 years, Diana “Dinny” Griffith, five children John (Mary), Mark (Patricia), Carolyn (Kevin), Peter (Ann Marie), Matthew (Lisa) and 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Gabriella, John Alex, Bryan, Chris, Henry, William, Riley, James and Gracie. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends   A memorial service will be held on Friday Feb 8th at 10am at Old First Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Huntington, New York.  In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Canine Companions for Independence.
