Obituary of Rose Cicio

Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rose C. Cicio, age 81, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in the Huntington Hills Hospice Inn, a caring and loving community of dedicated caregivers.  From early on in life she cherished being around her family. As an only child to her parents Nancy and John Tardalo, she rarely was alone. She shared many fond memories with all of her cousins, aunts and uncles. She met her husband Anthony at the Settlement House in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn. They married on September 28, 1957. Soon after they moved to Long Island and settled in Huntington Station where they raised their family.  Rose dedicated her life to her family and friends and enjoyed traveling, hosting large gatherings at her home and an occasional Black Russian cocktail.  She was the consummate hostess who could easily prepare and serve a meal for any size crowd. She lived a very happy life always grateful for the blessings of her family, friends, and the many laughs we shared. "Sempre Cosi" (may it always be like this) was a phrase passed down by her Dad that became her toast at all family dinners.

Rose is survived by her loving husband, Anthony of 61 years who was her primary caregiver in the last years of her life demonstrating to all of us how to love and honor your spouse till death do you part.  Rose is also survived by her four children, their spouses, and seven grandchildren: her son Patrick, his wife Cindi and their children Jonathan and his wife Ashley, Alyse and Kyle; her daughter Angela and her husband Bill Fortgang and their children Amanda and Meredith; her son Anthony and his wife Laurie and their daughter Ava; her daughter Nancy and her husband Joe Freire and their daughter Lila.
